June 4, 2024 Visit by the Deputy Attorney General, Chief Senior Public Prosecutor, and Trial Attorneys from Europe and the U.S.

At 8:20 AM on June 4, 2024, Chief Prosecutor Tou-Hui Chang of Taiwan High Prosecutors Office with Head Prosecutor Hsin-hung Cheng and Prosecutor Julie Liu of the Intellectual Property Branch (the Office) welcomed the following guests: Mr. Taavi Pern, Chief State Prosecutor/Deputy Attorney General, Office of the Prosecutor General, Estonia; Dr. Christian Schierholt, Chief Senior Public Prosecutor, Office of the Prosecutor General in Celle, Germany; Messrs Nicholas Hunter and Stephen Marzen, Trial Attorney, National Security Division, Department of Justice, U.S.A.; Mr. Lukáš Starý, National Member for the Czech Republic European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation "EUROJUST"; Dr. Lennart Laude, Associate, Noerr Partmb B. The visitors were accompanied by Prosecutors Julie Peiju Wang and Yu-Hsuan Lin from the Department of International and Cross-Strait Legal Affairs, Ministry of Justice.
Chief Prosecutor Chang said, "IP cases often have cross-border aspects so that international exchanges and cooperation are necessary. Therefore, this Office often interacts with foreign law enforcement partners. The topics of what our guests talked about in the Conference, such as national security trade secrets, as well as mutual legal assistance are quite related to our business practices.” Also, Prosecutor Amy H.M. Lo introduced the duties and functions of this Office.
Afterwards, Chief Prosecutor Chang , accompanied by the Head Prosecutor Cheng, Prosecutors Amy H.M Lo, Jonathan Chu, Wen-chi Huang and Julie Liu, gave the distinguished guests a tour of the Office and exchanged useful opinions with the guests.
