U.S. Delegation Visit the Intellectual Property Branch of Taiwan High Prosecutors Office

Mr. Edward Chen, U.S. District Court Judge; Ms. Peggy Kuo, Federal Magistrate Judge; Mr. Evan Williams, International Computer Hacker and Intellectual Property Counsel of Department of Justice; Mr. Joss Nichols, Senior Consultant of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Unit, DOJ; Mr. Andrew Reynolds, Chief of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (HSI) Cyber Crime Center, and Mr. Nathan Loehr, FBI Intelligence Analyst, accompanied by Mr. Phillip Loosli, Economic Officer of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), and Ms. Lisa Yang, Specialist of AIT, visited the Intellectual Property Branch of Taiwan High Prosecutors Office (hereinafter referred to as the IP Branch) at 9am, on April 8, 2019, and had a meeting.

Chief Prosecutor Wang Tien-sheng received the delegation in person and made welcome remarks. Prosecutor Lo Hsueh-mei gave “A Brief Introduction to the Intellectual Property Branch of Taiwan High Prosecutors Office” that described the background, function and major work of this office. Prosecutor Chu Shuai-chun presented “Data Analysis of Criminal Cases (2014-2018.10) under the Trade Secrets Act”. Then Head Prosecutor Chen Wen-chi presided over the discussion. Director General Wang Chun-li and Prosecutor Chris Huang, both from Department of Prosecutorial Affairs, MOJ, along with Prosecutor Chung Feng-ling of the IP Branch participated in the discussion. The two sides had a lively discussion and exchange.
